With more and more controversy regarding the pit bull, I can’t help but comment on them.
The pit bull is a breed that I respect. I compare them to a gladiator. They are terrific athletes with a lot of heart. I frequently see them being walked and I can tell immediately if they are overly aggressive or not. I know by the demeanor of the handler.

After reading all the horror stories about pit bulls, I decided to always stay away from them. However, they just seemed to be in the veterinarian’s waiting room whenever I took my dog for a visit. While waiting to see the vet, I found myself petting them and making friends and wondering why the news media would panic the public. On one occasion, when we finally got to see the vet, I asked if he gets concerned when he’s treating a pit bull. He said he would prefer waiting on a pit bull or large dog rather than a small dog because little dogs are more afraid and more inclined to bite without warning.

The reports are very dreadful, but the truth is – any animal with teeth can potentially bite. The larger and stronger the animal - the more severe the bite.

Here is our prized neighborhood Pit Bull. He’s a darling of a pup. His name is Diesel and he’s so, so loveable. He’s strong and powerful, but very gentle. He just wants to play. Some of our neighbors seem to shy away from him. Usually, there are no greeters – just me.

Calista has a crush on my dog, Maxx. When I am walking Maxx, he always goes over to her to check her out. Because she’s very shy, she lowers her tail and goes in the other direction. When he sees she’s not interested, he walks away. Once he walks away, she turns around, follows him and seems to say, “I’m interested, I’m interested.”

Duchess is the queen of her castle. Her human dad leaves the television on for her while he’s away at work. This large dog is also a lapdog.

This is Mickey, the miniature poodle. Can you see her pink bows? She’s the perfect pet.

Introducing Maxx, my favorite Shih Tzu

Here is my handsome pup, Maxx, a 6 year-old Shih Tzu. He is as loveable as he looks. I have owned poodles, a lhasa apso and designer dogs, but without a doubt, Maxx has the best disposition of all.

Here is another beautiful canine. Her coat is so full and beautiful, I had to take more shots.

Take a look at this impressive animal. Caesar is an aggressive, 3 year old Neapolitan Mastiff. His presence demands your attention. Like his namesake, he is strong, powerful and makes you pay attention to what he says (with growls). According to his owner, this dog is a real handful and is known as a bully.

This dog, Bobo is the companion of a very ill neighbor. His eyes would make anyone want to stick around.
